Read this on my wife and I’s first vacation without the kiddo in years. We were just hanging out in a cafe in Montreal, pretending not to be parents. Truthfully, a ski lodge with kids sounded harrowing and it made our decision to fly solo just that much sweeter. Really enjoyed this Jill.
Enjoyed being along on your journey. I lack depth perception as well, because I only use my stronger eye for sight. I've convinced myself it's what stands between me and an excellent tennis game.
Men have a stake in bathroom inequity as well. I do not enjoy loitering outside the women's waiting for my wife.
Great post! I loved the mountain imagery and Joel's wisdom. You're right about the toilet problem. I'm always surprised that one of the strongest challenges to disability equality comes from other disabled people themselves :(
We rarely holiday overseas anymore. We used to love it, but now? The people. Too many inconsiderate, entitled, self-indulgent people. There are lots of lovely ones too, but somehow they don't ever balance out - like one drunk, middle-aged asshole counts for 25 really nice people....
True. You have to throw a lot of good stuff at me to outweigh a night of sleep deprivation, Nordic style. And honestly? I miss my bed when I’m away from it 🥰
Beautifully unfolded ... smiles, indignant solidarity on the question of ladies' loos (is that the correct apostrophe spot?) ... Nordic Noise and Nonsense ... this had it all. Nice to have you back in the in-box, Jill
It sure didn’t feel hilarious banging on their door in the middle of the night but discomfort is a better story than pleasantries, I guess…. ! ❤️ Hope all well w you Kenneth
I love your storytelling, and would have expected nothing less than your rejoinder to the "party hotel" claim! Discomfort rules. As for me (thanks for asking), I'm hanging in. Having frontloaded lots of speaking and obligatory thises and thats, I'm aching to break free. Soon...
Happy to co-sign anything you might send to the European Commission, or to just scream into the void with you ❤️
🤝❤️ this is why women put up with being treated like second class citizens. Because we might have to Q for longer but the company is *excellent*
It is, it really is x
Such a great read! Releasing the children as revenge for disturbed sleep- brilliant.
The vengeance I will seek for a disturbed night knows no bounds. ⚔️ Pistols (children) at dawn.
😱😱👍

Enjoy your child-free time!!!!!! Cheering you on

😂😂🤣 my heart bleeds for you, waiting with relieved bladder…
Glad you enjoyed the ride, David. Be glad that you got to enjoy it without the smell in that car… ! 🧀🙏
Ah, good point about the relief. Still, I'm in favor of more toilets for everyone. Could form the basis of a winning political agenda.
listening now. I'm like'n that!
Glad you liked it Elliot 🙏

Wow! Glad I wasn’t there 😉
You’d have been ok, John. I’m sure of it.
Such a great post, Jill! So much fun, so much verve.
I also enjoyed Irkutsk while on the Trans-Siberian. There was something very special about the light.
Yes! The light! Golden and rich, even at midday…

❤️ thank you so much, Barrie 🙏
So glad you got your break, yes from thinking, and were back on skis! Hilarity has ensued.

Too true, but one settles for degrees...
