I’m gently nudging JoJo towards a gravel bike to match mine (I went for a Scott Speedster, a balance between cool looks and affordability). Half of adventuring is craving the next one. We keep telling ourselves that our little French farm is ‘basecamp’ … it feels like a launch pad then, not a succession of awkward barns and slipped roofing tiles!
My road bike is a rather ancient 10-year old Giant Defy. There’s SO much choice about. Our friends at NorthRoad Cycles do amazing bikes and they’d be my dream but … spending priorities and all that!
