Jill,

Thanks for taking us inside your climbing life. I never attempted to push my body to its extremes, so have to live vicariously through others. You described it all so well, and I loved that picture of you, so serene.

Since you can write essays as transporting as this one was, I hope your writing chops give you the intellectual solace you deserve.

Thank you David, for coming along (and for the generous words). Here for all your vicarious climbing and skiing needs! Ps. I am reading Bleak House, inspired by our conversation...

This is just so dreamy. Ah to go back to our old selves… Love bluegrass - one of my best live music experiences was an accidental evening at a hole-in-the-wall spot in TN where Wood and Wire played. 🪕

Hot damn, bet that was epic. Nothing like live bluegrass 🙌

The notebooks are so bittersweet. We've been friends for over a year now and there is so much I still don't know about you! So much cool stuff! Are you still in touch with any of your friends from these days? Could you give them a call and reminisce about old times? I glad that you are making new memories with new friends – did I tell you about the time a group of us tried to save their village pub?

I’m just looking forward to the day we can say saved without “tried to” first… 💪💪

Loved this, Jill. A different side of you.

They say nostalgia's not what it used to be, but they're living in the past. You've made it seem like yesterday.

So much warmth and love in this piece.
